Project Description

Keane Engineering was engaged to provide structural engineering design, documentation and certification for the Cobram Estate Switchroom at Boort. The project involved the design of a prefabricated elevated switchroom supported on a steel gantry structure, complete with grated access platform, staircase and lifting provisions for transport and installation.

Work Completed

Structural design and certification of concrete foundations, including pad footings or bored piers
Design of steel support gantry, legs, bracing and access platform
Design of switchroom base framing and transportable structural components
Design of lifting lugs for fabrication, transport and installation of the switchroom
Structural assessment of platform loading for future mechanical plant
Preparation of preliminary and construction issue drawings
Dual crane lifting plan for the installation of the 20-tonne switchroom
